Hamer Slammer Take Two

Well I guess no one liked the way it looked so we're doing it again. This time we are making a total custom. The first few shots show the guitar stock and our first attempt. To see more check out the other photos of the old custom here.

In these photos the body and neck have been stripped to bare wood, so we can start from scratch and not worry about matching the neck color like before. The neck has been reshaped to make it thinner and faster. Like we said earlier a total custom job.

Cutting a small crescent shape out of the back of the  body is the start of the body modifications. We matched the same cut on the headstock to make it blend better with the body. Next we will fill the control holes, recess some strap locks and start the work to change this axe from a bolt on to a set-neck.

These shots show the body contoured and the neck set to the body.

Here it is primed, sealed, and ready for paint. Check out the flush wood back covers, they will be painted to match the body. Next time, color.

Here it is base coated in Pearl White with shielded control cavities. Next will come the wet sanding process and the pickguard.
